Stay Your Own Way

At Lomakivi you can choose your accommodation to suit your needs. The cosy holiday cottages have room for families and larger groups, while the hostel is a great fit for solo travellers or smaller parties.

In the well-equipped kitchen you can prepare the day’s meals yourself and enjoy your morning at your own pace. And if you don’t feel like cooking on a holiday morning, breakfast can be prepared in the main building when needed.

What matters most is that there is no need to hurry here.

Nature and Things to Do Nearby

It is easy to set out from Lomakivi to explore the nature and surroundings of Iitti. From the yard and the nearby area there are opportunities for hiking, cycling, paddling, golf and other active holiday days.

The roughly 8-kilometre outdoor trail running around Radansuu takes you along the edges of forests, fields and the golf course. Along the way you can stop to admire the scenery, climb Lemmenkukkula hill or head out onto the water.

13 Generations at Lomakivi

Peuronius family crest

The history of Lomakivi reaches far back. Our family has held the farm for 13 generations, and the current main building and the granary date from 1868.

Over the years the main building, which we call the banquet house (pitotalo), has hosted gatherings for village activities, parties and shared occasions alike. Today the house also serves as a meeting place for groups.

The past is still visible here – but Lomakivi lives in the present day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a grocery shop in the Iitti church village?

In the church village, 2 kilometres from Lomakivi, there is the wooden Iitti church, a summer café run by local associations, a summer theatre, art exhibitions, a handicraft shop, the Iitti museum and an ice-cream kiosk.
The nearest grocery shop is in the village of Radansuu, 400 metres from Lomakivi. It is a traditional village shop that has been run by the sisters Irja and Terttu Perttola after their father Jalo. Larger grocery stores are in the centre of Kausala, 5 kilometres away.

Can you swim from the sauna?

The nearest beach is 500 metres away. It is a public, child-friendly, sandy-bottomed beach maintained by the municipality, with changing cabins, a toilet, a children’s playground and a beach volleyball area for bigger kids.

Do I need to bring bed linen and shampoo?

No. The beds are already made up with linen. Basic supplies are provided in the kitchen, bathroom and toilets. Bring your own personal hygiene items and paper towels if you need them.

Can I book a trail ride?

We currently do not offer riding services. You can follow the daily life of the horses from the windows of the holiday houses, from the yard and in the stable area. There is always a horse or pony you can admire up close, for example by grooming it. A pony or horse ride may be possible when agreed in advance.

May I invite a friend over for coffee if I book a hostel room?

The room accommodation building is for the use of those staying there only. When you book a holiday house for your own use, you can invite a few guests to visit. In the Lomakivi area we take the horses living in the farmyard and the other guests into account by keeping calm between 23:00 and 7:00.

Is there a barbecue spot at Lomakivi?

Yes, there is an idyllic barbecue spot in the old log barn in the yard of the holiday houses. It is freely available to guests. Bring charcoal if you want to use it. Otherwise, Lomakivi firewood or charcoal left behind by others is available.

Where do I get the key and how do I check in?

We do not use keys. We send the front-door code as a message on the day of arrival to the phone number given in the booking. The same message contains the exact address of the accommodation building. Help is usually close by, as you can reach us by phone or WhatsApp message. Lomakivi staff are usually present either in the horse stable or in the farm’s main building, the banquet house. And we live in the same farmyard, so help is near.

Close to Everything You Need, in the Middle of Rural Peace

Lomakivi is located in Radansuu, Iitti, between Lahti and Kouvola. It is only about five kilometres to us from the main road and about two kilometres from the Iitti church village.

Nearby are waterways, a beach, a golf course, nature trails and the services of the Iitti church village. Lomakivi is easy to reach by car, train, bus or by water – and if needed we help organise the last leg of the journey.

Come for a few days, stay for a week or stay longer.
